By washing and chopping old plastic bottles into small flakes, the flakes are then melted to form chips which make recycled fabric fibres. These fibres are then knitted to create the yarn. A pretty nifty process as it emits fewer greenhouse gases and energy and also provides a whole new life for those pesky single use plastic bottles.
