Welcome to the F-Team Bettina!

We are excited to welcome Hungarian distance freestyle open water swimmer, Bettina Fabian, to the F-Team. Bettina trains with Ferencvarosi Torna Club. She won gold in the 10K open water races at both the European Junior Championships and the Junior World Championships last year. She also excels in the pool, having competed in the 400m Freestyle at the World Championships in Budapest in June and racing the 400m, 800m and 1500m Freestyle events at the European Championships in Rome. We had a chat with Bettina to find out more about her goals and aspirations.

• What are your goals this year and beyond?
      I'd love to make it onto the podium at the World Championships and I dream of being an Olympic swimmer.
• What motivates you to pursue these goals?
      Great results would confirm that all of the energy I’ve put into sport has been worth it. And I would like to be the best version of myself to be a great role model for children.

• Do you have any pre-race rituals that you swear by?
      Eating my grandma’s power soup.
• What meal do you love, but can't tell your coach Gergely Kutasi you indulge in every now and then?
      Chinese soup
• If you could compete anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
      Switzerland because it is a beautiful place and my dream is to live there.

What are your main interests away from training and competing?
    Art. I would call myself an artist.

• Do your parents or siblings share any special sporting talents?
      I have a sister who is my biggest supporter. (Bettina's sister Fanni is a successful long distance swimmer who swims for Cal in the NCAA).
