World Jr. Diving Championships
The year has played host to much excitement in the pool. With 2022 drawing to a close and the Paris Olympic Games inching closer, there is so much talent on the rise ready to jump to the next level. The World Junior Diving Championships will showcase such talent from November 27 to December 4 when the world’s best junior divers will be competing at Montreal’s Olympic Park Sports Centre.
Macie Wheeler is one of our newest F-Teamers and will be one of a 15-strong Australian Team heading to Canada. The young gun, coached by Andy Banks, trains with the South Australian Institute of Sport (SASI), and will line up in both the 3-metre and 1-metre springboard. “My goal is to place in the top 12 in both of these events, meaning I will qualify for the finals,” she said. “A longer-term goal would be to qualify for both the Commonwealth Games and the Olympic team.”

All aspiring to follow in the footsteps of diving legend and F-Teamer Melissa Wu, our Aussie divers certainly have some healthy competition on the domestic stage. F-Teamer Kiarra Milligan is honing her skills and is currently diving in the NCAAs at Division 1 University of Michigan. Charli Petrov, Wu’s gold medal partner earlier this year in the Women’s 10m Synchro Platform at the Commonwealth Games, will also pull on the green and gold (well actually the blue and red as they'll be wearing Mr Squiggle Funkitas from the Live Wire collection!).

Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix of Team Britain will also compete at the World Juniors, in great form and with an exceptional track record thus far in 2022. Andrea won gold in both individual and synchro events at the Europeans and Commonwealth Games earlier this year.
With one of the final chances for our world-class juniors to take fire before the year’s end, we wish them all the best. Stay tuned to our socials for results!
