F-Teamer Iona Anderson smashed Western Australia Short Course Championships
Western Australia was lucky enough to hold their State Short Course Championships over the weekend and one F-Teamer stole the show. Breakers WA young gun Iona Anderson had a big schedule, racing in 11 events over the two days.
The 15-year-old came away with 8 golds, 1 silver and a bronze. Her 200m Backstroke time of 2:07.61 places her 4th on the Australian Girls All Time Top Ten Short Course Rankings for 15-year-olds behind Aussie Dolphin Minna Atherton, Olympian Kaylee McKeown and Commonwealth Games medalist Mikkayla Sheridan. Swimming another PB in the 100m Backstroke, Iona touched the wall first with a time of 59.23 which places her 5th on the same list, behind Minna Atherton, Emily Seebohm, Molly O'Callahan, fellow Funkita F-Teamer Gabi Peiniger and one spot above Kaylee McKeown whose best time was 59.34 at the same age.
