World Champs 2017 – Who To Watch!
The buzz of competition is in the air as the FINA 2017 World Championships kick into action in Budapest, Hungary. With eight Funkita F-Teamers getting set to go head to head with the world's best, we are on the edge of our seats with anticipation to watch the girls shine in each event.
Aussie Funkita F-Teamers and Olympians Melissa Wu and Anabelle Smith will be taking the stage early to compete in the diving leg of the World Champs across multiple events.
For Team GB F-Teamers Charlotte Atkinson and Rosie Rudin, this will be their first senior international meet, with Charlotte racing in the 200m and 50m butterfly and Rosie competing in the 100m backstroke. Joining the World Championship debutantes will be fellow UK F-Teamer and 17-year-old young gun Abbie Wood, who will compete in the 200m and 40m individual medley. Rounding out the Team GB line up is Olympian Molly Renshaw and Scottish backstroker Kathleen Dawson. Molly is set to star in her pet event the 200m breaststroke as well as the 100m breaststroke whilst Kathleen is gearing up to race both the 100m and 50m backstroke.
Representing Nepal, seasoned World Champs veteran and F-Teamer Sofia Shah is no stranger to the world stage. Having competed in the 2013 and 2015 competitions, Sofia is stepping up to the blocks for her third World Champs to race the 50m and 100m freestyle.
