While Gardell has been competing in Sweden in the build up to Rio, she spends the majority of her time in the US where she previously studied at the University of Southern California and trains with the USC Trojans.
"I love training at USC. It's an amazing group of people from all parts of the world, each with a different story. Everyone is there to train hard. There's a lot of creativity in the program so we are never bored. I try to make every practice count and never give up."
We can't wait to see Stina and her teammates compete in the 4 x 200m freestyle relay in Rio!
