Youngster Coates’ ready for Rio
Funkita UK athlete Georgia Coates is ready for Rio.
At just 17-years-old, Funkita F-Teamer Georgia Coates is the youngest British swimmer to qualify for Team GB's 26-strong team for Rio.
Her road to Rio began as an eight year old swimmer at the City of Leeds Swimming Club where her potential was recognised with an invitation to join a swimming talent camp.
Her rise through swimming ranks has been extraordinary, winning silver and bronze medals at the 2015 World Junior Championships and a bronze in the 200m freestyle at the 2016 British Nationals to seal her spot among the 26-strong British team for the 4 x 200m freestyle relay.
"To be there and experience it all and represent Team GB will be amazing. I'm looking forward to competing but also watching some of the amazing finals that are going to happen," Coates reveals.

Georgia was in an art lesson at school when she was told that she'd been selected for Team GB.
"I wasn't allowed to tell anyone until 11am because of the media announcement. When it turned 11, I told my friends as I had to let it out. They were pretty gob smacked. Although they knew I trained, some of them didn't know I was good enough to make Rio!"
Georgia's family have been her biggest supporters as she works toward fulfilling her swimming dream and she also gains inspiration from her team mates.
"I love going to training, it's like one big family. We really push each other which helps us to go harder."
We'll be cheering for Georgia as she races with her Team GB teammates in Rio!
