F-Teamers Take On Japan
This weekend a posse of our Funkita F-Team will be hitting the water for the Swimming Australia Grand Prix 1. Taylor McKeown, Gemma Cooney, Lucia Lassman, Ella Bond and Ariane Titmus will compete against other top Aussie swimmers as well as the visiting Japanese team, in what should be a fast hit out for the girls.
Taylor is back in full training and will not be tapering for the meet as she builds up to the World Championships in Kazan, Russia. Earlier this year, Taylor came up against some of the quickest Japanese and American swimmers in the BHP Billiton Super Aquatic Series in her first major meet after knee surgery last year. She will be looking to improve on her 4th as her strong showing at the Australian National Championships proves she is well and truly back to full speed.
Gemma, Lucia, Ella and Ariane all had awesome swims at Age Nationals, which saw them selected for the FINA World Junior Champs later this year. The Grand Prix will serve as a perfect opportunity for them to gain valuable experience ahead of this major meet.
