The Road to Glasgow - Taylor Triumphs
One of the best experiences of my life had to be at the recent National Championships and Commonwealth Games Trials in my hometown of Brisbane.
The realisation that I had swum a time that was Australia's 2nd fastest ever behind Leisel Jones, the fact I would have medalled at last year's world championships, and most importantly secured my place on the 2014 Commonwealth Games and Pan Pacific Championships teams was huge.
However, the celebrations couldn't last long as I now had a new challenge to prepare for, as this year is going to be the biggest in my life so far in swimming terms.
It will see me travel to Spain, and train in a world class facility especially designed for swimmers in Barcelona. I will be there with my coach, fellow team mate Lorna Tonks and a few other swimmers with their coaches who made the Games.

After two weeks in Spain, we will fly to Manchester to begin the official training camp of the Australian Swim team, which spans for three weeks. From there we are all off to Glasgow to begin the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
In the lead up to leaving for Spain, swimming Australia has organised three Grand Prix in 2 different locations to allow us to practice racing before the games. However due to my training camp in Spain I will only race in two. The next few months will prove an exciting stepping stone towards achieving this year's goal, which is to ultimately win the 200m breaststroke at the Commonwealth Games.
